SEAMLESS PIPE
Seamless pipes in the sense of language are pipes without connection. In the practice of making, seamless pipe is indeed a pipe that is formed without making a connection at all, so that no part of the pipe has ever been disturbed or changed by the material due to welding heat. This pipe is made of solid cylindrical steel, which is perforated in almost melting conditions, commonly called billets.
With this method of making without joins, the pipe produced can be better because the quality of the steel produced is almost the same for each area of the pipe surface. In addition, thickness by using this method, pipes that have any thickness can be produced. Usually this type of pipe is made for sizes below 8 ".
Seamless pipes have been used by humans thousands of years ago. The first pipe is used to flow water from the river to the fields. In China pipes are used to move water to the desired place, through bamboo since 2000 BC. At the beginning of the 16th century precisely in 1652 the building of water was made in Boston using hollow wood as a substitute for steel pipes that had not been found at that time. In 1815 William Murdock used a pipeline to flow gas from coal used for lighting in the city of London.
In 1824 James Russell invented the method of making seamless pipes by uniting the two edges of a thin iron plate. First of all the metal is heated to malleable and then folded and welded and completed by rolling the welded pipe. Now the techniques in making pipes are very diverse which have properties and uses under certain conditions.
