Specification of Galvanized Welded Pipe
KNOW THE ERW (Welded Pipe) PIPE
Based on the way of making it in general we know 3 types of steel pipes, namely:
Seamless Pipe (making pipes without welding).
Welded Pipe (making pipes with welding), either straight or often called ERW (Electric Resistance Welded) or spiral.
Cast Iron Pipe is formed by casting.
The ERW pipe refers to how the iron pipe is made, namely by electric welding that relies on differences in resistance between the two metal surfaces.
Pipe materials that are often used are:
Carbon Steel and Alloy Steel are either galvanized or not galvanized.
Alloy steel contains a number of alloying elements, such as 0.3% chromium (Cr), nickel 0.3% (Ni), molybdenum 0.08% (Mo). Carbon steel or Alloy Steel in the form of slabs which are then rolled in hot conditions which will later become HRC (Hot Roll Coil) or in the Cold Cold Roll Coil (CRC) state.
